Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has reaffirmed her unwavering commitment to the people of Kogi Central Senatorial District, expressing deep gratitude for their steadfast support and trust over the past two years.
Speaking at a constituency event, Senator Natasha described her journey as one filled with challenges, resilience, and victories made possible by the people of Okene, Adavi, Okehi, Ajaokuta, and Ogori-Magongo.
“You gave me the sacred trust to represent you in the Senate of our great nation. Through trials and triumphs, your faith in me has been my anchor,” she said.
The senator recalled her unjust suspension from the National Assembly, which she said lasted six months, but noted that her mandate remained intact due to the people’s resistance to what she called a “despicable ploy” to recall her.
Despite the setback, Senator Natasha said she remained focused on serving her people, citing numerous projects and interventions executed during the period.
Among her achievements are the construction of two modern markets in Okene and Okehi local government areas, each with 80 shops, abattoirs, electricity, and water supply. She also facilitated the building of new schools with teachers’ quarters and utilities in the Fulani settlement of Osaka/Abobo, Adavi LGA.
Additionally, 14 solar-powered water reticulation systems were installed across the five LGAs, along with 2,000 smart streetlights, police housing quarters at Ihima, a police patrol van, and eight 500kva transformers.
Her empowerment programs, she noted, have benefited over 2,000 constituents through the distribution of trade tools such as solar-powered vehicles, sewing machines, grinding machines, and deep freezers. In July 2025, her office also trained and empowered 230 women and youths with drones, laptops, and renewable energy tools.
Senator Natasha further disclosed the establishment of the Kogi Central People’s Company, a community-driven initiative aimed at promoting sustainable development and collective participation in the management of assets and charitable interventions across Kogi Central.
She also announced the commissioning of a GE CT Scan machine donated by NLNG to the Federal Medical Centre in Lokoja, describing it as a major boost to healthcare delivery in the state.
Expressing appreciation to her husband, Chief Emmanuel Uduaghan, and her supporters across Kogi and Nigeria, Senator Natasha pledged to remain accessible, accountable, and action-driven.
“My mission is not just to represent Kogi Central in Abuja, but to ensure that every policy and budget reflects the heartbeat of our people,” she affirmed.
The senator concluded by urging women and youths to remain hopeful, promising to continue to serve with courage, compassion, and integrity.
“This celebration is not about me; it is about us — the journey we have begun and the future we are building together,” she said.
